New K-12 School

Lee Construction Companies has provided an open webcam so that you can watch the new school as it goes up!
PDA was hired by CDM Smith, Inc. to serve as Design Architect for the redesign and completion of this new 62,000 square foot, 700-student school. The exceptionally cost-efficient design utilizes pre-engineered building structure and insulated metal panel building systems to provide a design that can be built quickly and economically with very low structural dead loads - necessary for the building on the sandy soils of its duneland site. The school is being designed for LEED certification and takes advantage of the adjacent wetlands and oak savannah landscape to support the school's explicit focus on the natural environment.

The school, which broke ground in August, 2012, is a redesign of the school designed by PDA's president, Eric Davis, while he was serving as CDM's architecture group leader.

Real Estate Asset Strategic Realignment Plan
Cook County, Illinois

PDA has been hired by US Equities Realty LLC to provide strategic facilities analysis and planning, courts/jail consulting and agency coordination services. These efforts are part of the USE team developing the Strategic Realignment Plan for Cook County's real estate portfolio. It is expected that the USE team will identify recommendations for realignment of the County's portfolio such that savings from such increased efficiencies and utilization will far offset the consulting team's fees. PDA is leveraging its expertise in civic administration and justice facilities, and its ability to navigate often challenging political circumstances, to help provide better and more effective work environments for County staff and more efficient delivery of services for the County's taxpayers.
